Background and overview
This section covers the branding of packages for Atlas Copco branded products. It applies to boxes, bags as well as packaging for accessories and spare parts.
Packaging is the first branded touchpoint a customer encounters when receiving a new item. Attractive, appropriate and sustainable packaging makes an important first impression and clearly signals brand values. Therefore, packaging for Atlas Copco branded items should reinforce the brand value of the product or solution, exemplifying characteristics such as high quality, climate consciousness, low waste, adherence to regulations, and overall customer value.
In this section we provide different options for the branding of overall packaging solutions.
Since packaging methods and legal restrictions differ, the packaging guidelines are made in a flexible manner where different solutions can be customized, always using the logotype pattern as a common basis.
Logotype pattern option 1
The designed Atlas Copco logotype pattern is a universal and flexible way to brand a range of different packaging needs. The pattern is available in white and deep gray and can be used in different combinations and sizes. We recommend a sustainable, natural and neutral cardboard or other natural material to print on.
Logotype pattern 1A (White)
Natural cardboard color with Atlas Copco logo in white
Logotype pattern 1B (Dark gray)
Natural cardboard color with Atlas Copco logo in dark gray
Example of pattern with logotype
Principle for construction of the pattern
X = Height of logotype (does not include horizontal bars)
Y = Height of a cell in the grid (logotype box)
Z = Line indicating the edge of the box; the grid with the logo and symbols will be orientated at a 45° angle to this edge
- Logotype box dimension
Height Y = 23 mm
- Diagonally printed 45° relative to the base (Z)
- Horizontal and vertical spacing between logotype box
X = 6 mm Y = 23 mm
You can also download the vector artwork files of the patterns.
Packaging examples
Examples of the first packaging design option
Below are examples of packaging in the two versions of the design pattern shown on the previous page. The first shows packaging that uses the pattern with the Atlas Copco logo in white, while the other uses the same pattern but with the Atlas Copco logo in dark gray.
Logotype pattern 1A (White)
The white logotype pattern is the preferred pattern for use whenever possible. Pattern 1A is the simple style of the pattern where information about recycling, waste handling and the website can be placed in one spot on each package model. When the QR code, PAP code or related symbols/messages need to be part of the actual logotype pattern, choose pattern 2 instead.
Logotype pattern 1B (Dark gray)
The dark gray logotype pattern is an option when the white logotype pattern does not work well. Pattern 1 is the simplest style of the pattern. This packaging style works when a designated area can be used for pap symbol, QR codes and other needed information.
Logotype pattern option 2
This logotype pattern can be used when there is a need to include symbols for recycling and waste handling and the QR code within the pattern. It is possible to customize for the needs of different regions. What you see here is a generic example of the appearance of the pattern, further customization is possible.
For this second design option (as in the first), natural brown cardboard boxes will be used. Against this natural cardboard color, the Atlas Copco logo in white or dark gray will alternate with the symbols for recycling, PAP 20, and the QR code to the Atlas Copco website, as shown below.
Logotype pattern 2A (White)
Natural cardboard color with Atlas Copco logo in white
Logotype pattern 2B (Dark gray)
Natural cardboard color with Atlas Copco logo in dark gray
Example of pattern with logotype and symbols
Principle for construction of the pattern
X = Height of logotype (does not include horizontal bars)
Y = Height of a cell in the grid (logotype box)
Z = Line indicating the edge of the box; the grid with the logo and symbols will be orientated at a 45° angle to the horizontal edge of the box

Packaging examples
Examples of second packaging design option
Below are examples of packaging in the two versions of the second design pattern. The 2A set of examples shows packaging that uses the pattern with the Atlas Copco logo alternating with the symbols in white, while the 2B set of examples uses the same pattern but with the Atlas Copco logo and symbols in dark gray.
Logotype pattern 2A (White)
Where the QR code, PAP code or other symbols/messages need to be part of the logotype pattern, choose pattern 2. Pattern 1 remains the preferred pattern in every other case.
Logotype pattern 2B (Dark gray)
The dark gray logotype pattern is the option to use when the white logotype pattern does not work well. Use this pattern where the QR code, PAP code or similar symbols/messages are required.
Branded packaging tape design
Branded packaging tape is available for sealing cardboard packaging cartons. The design for the packaging tape will come in two options. In one option, the logo and the Atlas Copco URL will appear in white against a blue background. In the second option, the logo and the URL will appear in blue against a white background.
Principle for construction of the pattern
X = Height of logotype (does not include horizontal bars)
B = Height of logo (inclusive of horizontal bars)
A = Width of logotype box
